5 Bridgend Athletic RFC U16 Players represented Wales last weekend in Amsterdam against the Netherlands U17 Team. It was the culmination of 7 proposed BCOW U16 fixtures this season which saw the team win the Netherlands fixture 24-19, with previous wins against Filton College, Bristol, Lambs, & Yorkshire with 1 defeat to Bath and the Gloucester fixture snowed off.
The Athletic players who helped the BCOW U16 regain the Annual trophy from the Netherlands were flanker Mason Hughes, wing Bobby Bromley, lock Morgan Bennett, centre Joe Watts & hooker Ben Owen. All 5 players played a significant part in a good team effort to record the 24-19 win. Bennett opened the scoring with a try in the first half with Hughes adding another in the second period
