Nathaniel Car Sales Players of Month

Following the Tondu game the Ath caught up with a backlog of Nathaniel Car Sales Players of month awards.

The winners presented by Head Coach John Apsee with their awards were January -Cameron Thomas, February – Kalafi Molitika, March – Tom Morgan, April – Jonny Phillips.

Cameron Thomas since his return from Maesteg Quins has been an outstanding flanker or No 8, with great ball carrying and defensive skills. He has converted from hooker where he was part of an Ath Welsh Youth league winning team.

Kalafi Molitika. Has come on leaps and bounds this season and his versality makes him an important backrow or second row forward in the team. He is a great line out forward and strong ball carrier and should be a long-term asset for the Ath.

Tom Morgan. Only player to win award twice this season. A very inspirational leader on the field and motivator at training. This season has performed equally well in the back row, lock or even reverting to centre where he stood out during our Championship years.

He is 2 short of 100 Senior appearances for the club after a long career at the Ravens. In the 98 games he has scored 13 tries and 65 points.

Jonny Phillips. Returned to the Ath on dual registration with Aberavon and his speed, elusiveness and class has helped considerably raise the games of youngsters around him. His kick ahead in the Tondu game led to Evan Yardleys try and Div 1 saving moment in the 72nd minute.
