Kenfig Hill Youth 7 Bridgend Athletic Youth 60

Ospreys Youth Cup

It was the Ath's first competitive Youth fixture and most of the players first competitive game since February 2020. After getting into their stride, they ran in 10 tries, with 5 conversions from a variety of kickers.

The Ath started a bit rusty and lacking the control we were used to seeing.

The Ath were first to strike through Jac Hunter shortly followed by Gus Patterson putting a buffer between the sides. Some good pressure and offloading from Kenfig Hill got them good territory 5 meters out from the Ath try line and with a few infringements the Ath had Jacob Perkins sin binned shortly followed by Ollie Donaghue. With the Ath refusing to let Kenfig Hill cross their line the referee awarded them a penalty try.

The Ath weathered the 2 cards even scoring a couple more tries with Gus Patterson completing a hat trick while playing with 13 men pushing even further ahead. Back to full contingent the Ath made changes half time, but the pressure continued, and the tries kept coming through Macenzie Gray, Sam Mathews, Luke Florence 2, Ollie Donaghue and Josh Stephens.

Credit to Kenfig Hill they fought until the last whistle.
