With inclement weather and the Wales v Australia game on Sunday morning only the U11 gamewith Pencoed was played in the Ath Mini & Junior section last weekend.
The under 11s welcomed Pencoed to Newbridge Fields Friday evening in what turned out to be a scintillating game of rugby. Both teams looked to play open rugby with very few errors considering the slippery conditions.
The Ath were dominant from the start, scoring 4 tries within the first 5 minutes. Pencoed clawed one back before the Green and Golds continued their dominance.
Birthday boy Jackson scored 3, as did Theo. Charley, Rhodri and Charlie added to the scoresheet with a try each. Pencoed scored 2 late tries, leaving the final score Ath 9, Pencoed 3.
