BARFC WISH JEFF POPE A SPEEDY RECOVERY

Many of Jeff’s BARFC friends from his 1970’s days including John Apsee, Brian Lewis, Phil Rees, Gareth Jones, David Perry, Carey Prior, Mike Rennie and David Davison wish on behalf of BARFC to send their best wishes to Jeff and his family, hoping for a full and speedy recovery as he battles the effect of Covid 19 at the Princess of Wales Hospital.

His wife Karen informed Brian that he is now off the ventilator and doing well. Great news.

Jeff was not just an exceptionally good rugby player for the Ath, Maesteg & Bridgend but an excellent companion to many involved with the social side of rugby and has maintained that friendship with many since his playing days. As the recent history of BARFC indicated Jeff played as a hooker in the very first Athletic game in 1972.

The Athletic have experience of another member Carl James who successfully battled Covid 19 at the Princess of Wales. Despite 5 weeks on a ventilator at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Carl was discharged a week after coming off the ventilator. Now happily following a period of rehabilitation he is back at work.

BARFC are optimistic that a fighter like Jeff will also use all the qualities he showed on the rugby field to soon be restored to full health. Best Wishes Jeff from all your friends at BARFC.
