Due to logistics the wru have moved Bridgend Athletic from Div 1 West Central to Div 1 East Central. Having finished 3rd in Div 1 West Central this brings an exciting new challenge meeting many new teams for the first time to attempt to fulfil the clubs ambition to return to the Championship. The league season kicks off on Sept 1 at home to Dinas Powys.
Preseason training under the current coaching set up of John Apsee, Stuart Morris, David Williams and Gerald Williams starts on Tuesday 3rd July at Newbridge Fields and subsequently on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Paul has arranged preseason friendlies away to Kidwelly on Aug 11th, home (Brewery Field) Aug 18th to Old Redinegians (Reading) and a mixed 1st & 2nd XV away at Llantwit Major on Aug 25th.
The Athletic 2nd XV are currently in negotiations to remain with the WRU Conference or join a new Ospreys League set up. Details in due course.
