Aberavon Green Stars 2nd XV 0 Bridgend Athletic 2nd XV 41 Friendly – Sat Jan 13th 2018

Bridgend Athletic 2nd XV boosted by some new faces proved too strong for their Aberavon Green Stars counterparts, scoring 7 unanswered tries in a 41-0 away victory.

The Athletic opened strongly with Luke Yardley running a good line for the opening try. The second was an excellent individual try when wing Josh Seldon fielded a kick on half way sidestepping his opposite wing and rounding the full back. Firing on all cylinders and with the bit between their teeth further first half tries followed from flanker Jacob David and wing Ryan Pickford for a 26-0 half time lead.

The second half followed the pattern of the first except for a short period when the Athletic went off the boil. Wing Alex Borley rounded his opponent to run in from 40 metres. Further tries were attributed to Geraint Lang and Josh Seldon. Three tries were converted for a 41-0 victory.

Overall captain Aaron Mordecai was pleased with a good attacking performance and sound defence to overcome a cold wind and difficult playing surface.
