Bridgend Athletic Youth
Reigning Ospreys A League Champions host last season’s runners up Pontardulais Youth at Newbridge Fields this Saturday Nov 25th k.o 1pm.
Pontardulais were narrowly beaten in last season’s final of the Welsh Youth Cup by Rumney from the Cardiff Blues region, the club the Athletic defeated to win the Welsh Regions National League Final.
The Athletic again lead by head coach Lee Grabham and Kevin Gamble are currently unbeaten this season having won all 4 league games with bonus points and head the table with 20 points. Likewise, Pontardulais have won all their 3 games – 2 with bonus points to gain 14 league points. Both teams are through to the 3rd Round of this season’s Welsh Youth Cup.
With both sides well represented in the Ospreys U18 Academy side it promises to be a keenly contested fixture showcasing perhaps future stars of the game, and even at this stage of the season could define the outcome of the league.It should be a great prelude to the later Wales – All Blacks fixture.
