Two undefeated sides Crymych Youth and Bridgend Athletic Youth fought out a determined contest in the Quarter Final of the Welsh Youth Cup. Unfortunately for the Athletic without their injured Osprey Academy Players Captain and flanker Joe Grabham and centres Caine Woolerton and Dan O’Sullivan and forward Rhys Durlucia the Pembrokeshire side had too much fire power and prevailed by taking their two try scoring opportunities through wing Dafydd Griffiths and full back Rhodri George in an 18-0 victory.
The Athletic threw everything they had at Crymych in the first half but were unable to break down a well drilled and organised team. The home side dominated the second half and deserved their passage to the semi-finals.
The Athletic will now look to emulate last year’s Athletic Youth team and win the Ospreys A league, which will pit them against the other Regional league winners where they could win the Welsh League Cup for a second consecutive season.
