Fixture

The U13's travelled to Blackwood knowing that they would face a stiff test against a very good physical outfit.  The Ath's cause was not helped with the dreaded sickness bug hitting a number of people overnight which resulted in us have 13 players at Blackwood.

With the odds stacked against them and with a few players already carrying injuries the magnificant 13 players took too the pitch.  The first half was a tight affair with the Blackwood forwards carrying well and creating space in the corner for the full back to squeeze over on the 10 minute mark to make it 5-0.  The Ath boys stuck to their guns and played a wonderful tight game with some brilliant turnovers.  H/T 5-0 Blackwood.

The 2nd Half was very much the same as the 1st with the boys defending brilliantly with some fantastic forward carries which got us close to the line on several occasions not quite managing to get over the whitewash.  The team managed to limit Blackwood to a single score during the second period with the final score 12-0 Blackwood.

Not one individual can be singled out from this display of guts and courage to play as one unit with everyone encouraging and supporting each other.  The boys look forward to travelling to Tonyrefail next week hopefully with players returning from sickness and injuries.
